Don’t Always Fire at Weakness

Filed under: Best Gambling, Gaming World, The Funny Farm — admin @ 10:07 am

Poker players are taught to sniff out weakness and pounce on it, make it pay. In general it is good advice, as often to the aggressor go the spoils, and many pots are won based not on who has the best hand at the moment, but who takes the lead.

There is something to be said, however, for situations where letting weakness continue to grow and get a mind of its own can pay off even more than stealing in the first place. Sometimes when a poker opponent shows weakness, and you show weakness back to it, it can then cause that player to come into the idea that he can be the one stealing. Once he opens that door, you might be there waiting to repounce on his pouncing, making him admit defeat again, having paid even more.

This method of restealing assumes that your opponent is more prone to stealing when you check behind, and that he will less often slowplay his big hands. You don’t want to checkraise every time your opponent acts in this way, as it can cost you, but manipulating feel and situation might end up paying even more in the long run when you let weakness try to shine. Remember this when you play poker online.

Hand Analysis: 2-A

Filed under: Best Gambling, Gaming World, The Funny Farm — admin @ 11:07 am

For many types of online poker players, all they need to see is a single barren ace to find it worthwhile to jump into a pot. Even having seen losing poker hand after losing hand go down when players flop aces with weak kickers, they’ll still see the prettiest of all cards in the poker deck next to the ugliest of all cards and find it worthy to come right in. In the range of weak aces you can end up playing, ace deuce is not the worst. It does have added value over a hand like A 6 or A 7, in that you can sometimes flop a wheel (the smallest possible straight), whereas those middle kicker hands don’t have an straight possibilities behind them. The deuce kicker also can be a bonus in that when you face aggression on just flopping an ace, it might end up easier to get away from such a cruddy kicker, as opposed to say an 8 or 9 kicker that might lure some of the more donkeyish players to keep calling down bets in hopes that they might turn out good. Still, in a full online poker game, the weak ace is rarely going to get you anywhere without a load of sheer aggression behind it, coupled with none of your other opponents waking up with a hand.

Wedding Musicians Ensure the Party Pops

Filed under: Lifestyle Center, Online Dating, The Funny Farm — admin @ 11:28 am

Weddings are a time for jubilation and nothing sets the mood better than the right music. Although the ceremony itself often reflects the romance of the classical era, when it comes to the party afterward people want to rock it out, making it a memorable event that brings out the laughter, love, and delight everyone is feeling. Therefore, the selection of wedding music or, better yet, wedding musicians can become an important decision.

There is now stereo equipment with speakers that can sound almost real, but by the time someone agrees to run it and the music is collected the result is less than worthy. DJs are more popular and they provide the equipment and music choices preferred, but can be overpriced with less than premium outcomes in some cases. For couples who really want something special, nothing beats the sound of a live dance band that can react and respond immediately to the demands of party-goers and cost is often equivalent to that of a good DJ. The question then becomes what kind of band or musicians to hire that will leave guests in awe and remembering the event for some time to come.

For those who really want to “kick it up a notch” and are planning a Florida wedding, there are many choices, but one new option is renting a steel drum band like Reel Ting. For those unacquainted with this type of music, it brings the sounds of the Caribbean to life with a Reggae sound that delivers the music of the islands into any wedding reception space and much more. And, with its resonance, feet can’t quit moving.

Many wedding instrumentalists, like Reel Ting, are not limited to genre when it comes to music. Classic music played on steel drums provides a twist on the original composition that is not only unique, but produces beautiful, melodious music that is particularly unique. When the party kicks into high gear, however, they are more than set to enliven the party with a beat that will ensure party-goers never want to stop. With the alternatives provided by steel drum bands, feeling like one is on a tropical island can be experienced regardless of where the event is held.

When booking any band it’s important that sufficient experience and references are provided and that they are checked thoroughly. After all, a bridal couple has only one opportunity in their lifetime to do it properly so ensuring that the best band is working for the event will save much trouble. For instance, a steel drum band like Real Ting with ten years of experience and many letters of recommendation can reassure engaged couples that their event will be a memorable experience.

The right wedding musicians should bring flair, flamboyance, talent, and professionalism to any event. Florida is blessed in that it has many choices for live music, but maybe it is luckiest for the gifted steel drum bands, like Reel Ting, that are based there. For any couple planning to wed, whether residents Florida or those driving in for a destination wedding, it should be a first choice to make the affair memorable and matchless.

AK in SB

Filed under: Best Gambling, Gaming World, The Funny Farm — admin @ 10:12 am

I’m playing a 180 man sit and go in online poker. The blinds are 100/200 and I have 2700. I have about 13 BBs. Now, I’m short, but there are many people shorter than me. I’m just conserving my chips for a shove or a good opportunity to steal blinds or even re-steal a late position opener.

In the small blind, I am dealt AK off-suit. The under-the-gun player limps for 200. A middle position player raises 3x to 600 and a big stack behind him calls the 600.

I don’t like the UTG limp very much. A lot of players aren’t bad enough to limp UTG with mediocre hands that they will fold to a raise. If they do this, they often are holding a strong poker hand that they are hoping to trap with. This usually means big pairs or hands they don’t mind playing out of position like AK.

The 3x raise doesn’t scare me much; he probably has a mediocre hand like KJ, KQ, A-rag. He’s trying to steal some blinds with a decent hand.

The flat call behind normally would signal a big hand, except that the guy had a big stack. He had around 10,000 chips and was most likely trying to accrue more chips by splashing around in nice sized pots were people are likely to put their stacks in jeopardy.

The flop ships a queen and I’m out middle of the heat. Remember this when you’re at the casino.

Caro’s Favorites

Filed under: Best Gambling, Gaming World, The Funny Farm — admin @ 9:51 am

Mike Caro on Favorites. Tip number one. A good winning poker player should make the game fun for his opponents. Ponder and roll this one around in your head. If I’m nice to you when you enter a pot with me, and I’m still nice after I take your money and tell you, “Aw man, you almost had me,” with sincerity, wouldn’t you be more likely to try to get me the next time with a weaker poker hand. As compared to this: You joker, you called me with a 2 outer, really, hahahahaha, you should just leave now. It’s obvious that by making it fun and seemingly a gamble for a weaker player, you’re going to get that player to enter more pots with you with weaker hands, and will pay off in the long run. This is the wisdom of Caro and thus one of his favorite tips. Next is playing against bullies. One who raises more than is mathematically possible to have a good hand. Caro’s favorite strategy: call them more often than you bet into them and suck out on them. Sure it sounds fish like and calling station-y, but it’s a profitable strategy against the bully simply because you’re exploiting his lack of knowledge of the maths of the game. Finally, picking a seat. Let the loose poker” players and the aggressive good players sit to the right, and the tight players sit to the left. This way, you get to see the action of the loose and good, and exploit the tight from your position.

Semi-Pro Bowling Hints: Ditch the Center’s Bowling Equipment

Filed under: Gaming World, Recreation Management, The Funny Farm — admin @ 2:50 am

Almost daily I meet a recreational bowler ready to play this intricate sport with new respect. Should that be your calling, you’re approaching a key turning point in building fundamental skills as a dedicated bowler. Listen up, because this “Next Steps” handbook to the Top 5 Bowling Tips may take your game to new levels. The guys in a nearby bowling pro shop can help you reach their bowling talent. A wise bowling wizard once said: the bowling balls do all the work (after you roll them). Just kidding. Okay, so it’s more complicated than that. Don’t fret, with a little guidance we’ll have you throwing your way.

First, get a knowledgeable friend to help you purchase custom fit bowling balls, bowling ball bags, and shoes needed to do this right. You’ll notice a difference with your own stuff. It’s no joke, have your private ball drilled, and you can make more of your practice time. A precision selected bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. The same goes for wearing quality bowling shoes which are in good condition.

After you may have previous acquired the right bowling ball and shoes, you’re ready for the number two piece of bowling advice: how to aim. If you wait to roll, try not to focus on the actual pins. Use the notches on the lane like a barrel of a gun. Ever noticed them? It is easier to roll through a an aid marker a good deal closer. To take full advantage, it should be your habit to line-up at the a consistent place 4 steps from the foul line each time. With that consistency you can make small adjustements on your marksmanship.

Do we have any tips for curves, to achieve specific action on the pins? That makes our next best piece of bowling advice. It’s all in the specialized bowling ball. A lot of serious bowlers travel with at least two bowling balls to pull off heavy hooks, selected precisely for the lane. However intermediates might want to avoid putting on a show, and avoid a ball that is too heavy for you. A lot of serious bowlers opt for bowling balls made for special resin expert grip. Steer clear of them, because these balls regularly make even some well known bowlers seem a fool. With these tips you’re on the right track. Rest assured you’ll find soon.

Thanks, Frank Hundley

My family and I roll strikes for our team (the “Strykers”) a group from the guys and gals at Bowling Pro Shop just outside Kansas City. I chime in with tips to professional and amature bowlers on the web and at the bowling center. Also, I should give a shout out to all my heavy rollers heading into tournament play. Go Pinheads, Go!

Art of the Online Poker Bluff

Filed under: Best Gambling, Gaming World, The Funny Farm — admin @ 3:01 pm

Bluffing is an integral part of any poker game. If you have been blessed with four of a kind, it is to your advantage to pretend otherwise. If you have been dealt the most pathetic cards imaginable, you can try to convince your opponents that they don’t stand a chance by betting big. But what if your hand falls somewhere in between? Maybe you are three quarters of a way to a flush, or have a low two pair that you think could flourish into a full house. This is where you might need to offer up a semi-bluff. Betting high on a potentially good hand offers you two chances to win. Some players might buy into the bluff and decide to fold, or you could end up getting the cards you were hoping for and be the legitimate winner. A further refinement of this technique, the Semi-Demi-Bluff, was coined by poker writer Ashley Adams back in 2005. This type of bluff is used when you more than likely already have the best hand, but a chance still remains that the game could take an ugly turn. Betting big here hopefully chases away those with equally strong hands or others who are attempting semi-bluffs of their own.

Scuba diving trips

Filed under: Lifestyle Center, Looking for Adventure, The Funny Farm — admin @ 2:58 pm

Next up is Nanaimo in British Columbia Canada. Some of the famous dive sites in the scuba diving vacation hotspot are in Chemainus. The world’s only Boeing 737 dive spot is located in Chemainus. The Boeing 737 sank in 2006. Cape Breton is one of the most popular diving spots in the area. The diving depth in the area sometimes reaches one hundred and thirty feet depending on the tip. There is a wide variety of marine life to see including seals, ling cod, corals, starts, worms, and anemones. Bungee jumping, camping, and hiking are also available in Nanaimo. The transit system in Nanaimo should be avoided if possible. Rent a car at the Nanaimo airport or the downtown harbor.

If you have the money and the time off I recommend visiting Australia and Oceania. Australia is the best scuba diving vacation destination in the world. The South Coast of the New South Wales is said to offer diving greater than any other large city. Australia probably has be the best ocean life in the world. There are endless diving sites to visit in the area. The Great Barrier Reef is a much visit. The SS Yongala lies to the south of the reef in open water it was sank by a cyclone in 1911. The ship is now a haven for sea life. If you aren’t terrified by sharks you can go cage diving at Port Lincoln. Great white sharks are available for viewing while cage diving.
