The Internet offers huge opportunities for a job seeker, but also presents several possible challenges. It also adds great complexities, and a lot more matters to think about…and be mindful of.
Job hunting needs to be thought of as a personal, highly directed marketing process where you are the product. Your resume is an advertisement. Your extended network of colleagues is your source for job information.
So where does the internet fit in? At AA-Careers, we just posted a job on Craigslist and got 600+ applications in a calendar week. For a single job. That’s increased competition for jobs.
Had a strong person contacted us before we posted the ad, they could have secured the position before having all that competition. How? By knowing an employee at our company who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least 12 days before it was posted. Who in your network might know of a job that’s coming available soon?
Be careful how you submit your application as well. When we did an analysis of the 650 resumes, we found a large number of errors. 63% of the applicants were easily removed with a fast-paced triage process. How? The same way any manager would. By eliminating resumes where the objective didn’t match our job description. By rejecting candidates whose cover letters gave us reasons not to employ them, like "I know I’m overqualified but I really need a job". By eliminating job hunters whose documents that didn’t open properly. And by rejecting candidates who didn’t bother to spell check their cover letter and/or resume.
So the great news is that job boards give you a feel of what companies are hiring, and for what kinds of positions. But once those jobs are posted, the competition is intense. You can still try, if you have a well honed resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.
Another issue to be aware of is how quickly and easily you can be checked on on the web. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some Facebook comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing insane, but enough to swing our thinking about who to employ.
AA-Careers provides a comprehensive set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.
Be careful out there, and good hunting!

Handling my household budget can sometimes be really bothersome, but not overseeing it can put me into financial debt before I realize it. The gains from managing my budget correctly helps me save money and relieve some tension I have pertaining to my debt.
I have many things in life that shape me financially, my family budget is the deepest influence. There are not a lot of individuals nowadays who have learned how to budget and this can cause many financial problems, including debt. One main reason why so many of us do not create a budget is because we think it is just too complicated. But in actuality, devising a budget does not have to be difficult at all; it is as easy as penciling down what we spend and keeping up with it each month. By practising this habit, we do not spend more than we have.
It is crucial for me to keep in mind that my budget is merely my programme for my monthly spending. Just like any programme, my budget does call for me to supervise it to keep it working correctly. First step is to organise the information that I need in it. I monitor my expenses like car payments, utilities, car insurance policy, groceries, etc. If I do not organize my budget, I can easy find myself in debt. It is vital for me to know exactly what I need on expenditures every month.
I see two advantages with keeping an eye on with my finances through my budget. Firstly, it eliminates unnecessary expenditure. Secondly, I can keep myself from going into unnecessary debt. When I spend my money wisely, I buy only things that are necessity and I free up money that I can use on something that I want or can save it. With the extra money I am able to save, I have the option of putting it aside and investing.

KISS: Keep it short and simple
A few key concepts that are substantially explained will come across more understandably than a lot of text designed to impress the audience. Your interviewers do not have the time to analyse the information as you present it.
The rule of three
Nearly all individuals cannot call back more than three things at a time. Many memorable quotes come in 3 parts: Veni, Vedi, Vici, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Education, Education, Education,
Ready, Steady, Go, etc.
If viable, organize your presentation in 3 bigprincipalcentralfundamental themes (one per slide). On each slide, tryseekendeavorendeavourattempt to focuscentercentre on three3 keycentralprincipalimportantessentialfundamentalbigprimarymain ideas. If you have too many pointsaimsitemsdetails on one page, you may want to breakchunk them down in two2 different more focussedcentredconcentratedcenteredfocused themestopicsideasstemsstreamsconcepts to break upseparatesplit upfragmentbreak downsplit up the messagecontentsubject mattersubstance ininto more digestible chunks
Rule of three3 applied to a presentation on the critical appraisal of your career so far:
THEME 1 - Presentation of Experience
Career progression & Exams taken;
Important skills and expertise acquired;
Involvement in academic activities.
THEME 2 - Demonstration of commitment to speciality and self development
Cours es and conferences attended;
Special interests developed;
Initiative taken in developing services and improving standards.
THEME 3 - Areas where further development is needed
Great emphasis on teaching; want to enhance research portfolio;
Keen to enhance further teaching experience (Med Ed. Degree);
Solid experience of endoscopy; further training required for possible
subspecialisation.
Visual aids
In mostwell-nigh allnearly allvirtually allalmost all interviews, the nature of the visual aids will be imposed. This could include:
No visual aids at all
A4 white paper sheets
Acetates
Electronic (e.g. on USB chip or CD Rom)
Identify the requirements before you start as it may dictate the manner in which you organise your ideas.
EnsureDetermineAscertainCheckVerifySuss Out too that you have sufficientadequatedecentenough back-up. For example:
if they asked for paper presentation slides, bring a copy for eacheveryevery last interviewerinterview panel member (they might say that they will photocopy them for you but the machine might break downfailcrumplesnuff itconkkick the bucket that day!) if they ask for a USB chip, bring two chips (and possibly even a CD version) whatever they ask, always bring a few paper versions in casejust in case everything has gone wrongbaddefectivefaulty, or in casejust in case they deliberatelyintentionallypurposelyby designby choiceon purposedesignedly make your life difficult.

A CV presents the candidate to the prospective employer. It makes the first impression on the future employer on the applicant’s skills, qualification, credentials and work experience. Thus, a professionally well-written and well-structured resume can often help secure an interview with the potential employer.
While developing a CV, the direction must be on the requirements of the business and your capability to fit in the position offered. The resume should be put together by blending the applicant’s skill sets and experience with the needs of the business. It is writing about how someone can meet the requirements of the elaborate opening within corporation.
There are several delusions about resume writing that requires clearing up. Trying to stand out among the crowd by making the curriculum vitae prominent will not serve the purpose. The resume should not be something unusual, unique or tricky. However, if the facts are organized in a professional manner, providing particulars applicable to the role’s necessities, it will definitely impress the recruitment agent to call the applicant for a first interview.
The main target of a resume is to introduce the job applicant and present the skill sets, qualification, experience and credentials of the individual so that the human resource manager is impressed enough to call him/her for a face-to-face interview. The CV should only comprise information, which is applicable to company’s requirements. This may include the experience of the candidate, which is positive for the job opening. Avoid writing a long story of your former job experiences.
A thorough, well-organised curriculum vitae is the key to opening the exact doors to the perfect chance in the job seeking process.

Infrequently do we get youths and young adults at their early twenties with areas of hair lacking from their scalps. Most hair loss in men happens in their 30’s and forties despite the fact it isn’t uncommon from men in their late 20’s to drop hair as well. The apprehension of aging is cringed among today’s society. Where aging was in the past a symbol of enlightenment and wisdom, it is presently in many instances looked upon as if the elder you get, the more uninteresting you become. Now, I cannot say I’m terribly satisfied being bored with most men (who isn’t?) and not crack a smile. But, I’m not unsatisfied in that way, either. I merely mention it on the blogosphere as a delicious personal tidbit foreshadowing what I will shortly explain in grand style.
A week ago today yours truly was talking to Trisha, thinking of joining Dallas Personals site. As of this minute, I write to my readers as a happy member of the matchmaking service. Totally, and I almost don’t believe it myself! It’s full of fun, attractive people! If you have read my old blog, you may be wondering, “Stop blabbering and tell me about it already.”
Here’s how it went down, I looked at this Great Expectations Dating site and felt encouraged. They’re for the serious singles who know dating doesn’t have to be so frivolous and stupid.
Because I’d never been a fan of the ridiculous nightlife ritual my friends and my family have named “The Dating Experience.” I faced it more than anyone should. Day and night friends pester, “Are you seeing somebody?” and “Just get out there and date him!”
“Baloney!” I say to them, without missing a beat. “Have you seen what’s out there?”
“Whatever doofus,” they level with me. “You have no way to know that!”
Thankfully, that’s my sister The One-And-Only
Trisha Wilson. She beams common sense to my brain to put me back on course. People never fail to offer perspective. She made a good point, so I signed up.
Returning to the theme of this post. As I browsed from hundreds of combinations of outfits for my first singles event with Great Expectations, something occurred to me that was quite true. Over the last year, I hadn’t allowed myself the greatest of figurative great expectations for dating in the fun-filled winding course of being alive. It’s good to be single, specifically with healthy optimism. Holding great expectations makes a difference on a cynics social life.
