One of Europe’s most celebrated ski resorts, Val d’Isre sports 358 km of groomed pistes. The ski season starts in November and closes in the beginning of May. The purpose built French village provides for all your needs. The village unfolds along the valley from La Daille as far as Le Fornet with the focus and the apres ski in the centre Val d’Isere. This cluster of cute houses comprise smart shops nearly all of which have arisen since the town was voted for the winter olympics.

Broken into 3 different areas Val d’Isre has enough slopes for all skiers. Val d’Isere has a great historical snow record, the area is hugely fashionable among advanced boarders and motorway skiing intermediates, on the other hand you don’t have to be especially experienced to enjoy what is there. It is easy to why numerous English are pulled in to the village, with its crazy nightlife and the choice of amusement on offer, however the near proximity of Tignes enables you to head out to quieter areas if it all begins to get too much.

Pros

A superior night-life in the Alps. Everybody talks English. Easy entrance to Val d’Isre and Tignes known collectively as the Espace Killy ski area which is perfect for skiing holidays. It has a lot of cars and although there are frequent buses in the daytime, devoted party animmals should aim to be within walking distance of the town centre.

Cons

Pricy. Frantic and very fashionable with English holiday makers, and so not for people anticipating a typical French resort to savour a stress free holiday. Many ski lifts can shut in stormy weather. Some hard blue and green trails.
